6 Weeks

This afternoon, Jace and I had fun dressing Cami up. My good friend, Jeni gave us the dress. Cami still needs to grow a little more to fit into it, but I just wanted to try it on 'cuz it's so cute! I can't wait 'til it fits! Okay, I can wait...now's fun, too! So I did the dress, and Jace put the bow in her hair (Elmer's glue - it works great!)

Jace's efforts on making her smile: "You want me to what?"

I think I see one coming!

There it is!

Camille's Blessing Day

Blessing Day went wonderfully. Cami and I were able to share a quiet moment together that morning before church. It was sweet. And Jared gave a beautiful blessing.
My Parents

Jared's
My Mom (this is for Gramma 'cuz she asked for one!) and also my sister, Aunt Jamie
I am amazed that we were able to fit everyone comfortably in! I could barely fit in the boys' room to get this photo!
How 'bout this for a great family photo? I love these expressions! This was after all the guests left and Cami hadn't eaten since that morning before church. She was so good all day!

Waving goodbye and thank you for coming!

Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Verusca Meet Cami

She must have been really happy to see these guys! They have been wanting to come see her for a while but have been really busy. My brother, Jimmy, is opening 3 new stores - he is the owner of "Tricked Out Accessories". Have you seen them in the mall? Jimmy keeps us well equipped and stylin' with our cell phone accessories!
Anyway, they had a great time getting acquainted.

Good One, Uncle Jimmy!

5 Weeks

Jace and Cami are gaining a wonderful bond. At 5 weeks, Cami is continuing to eat well, burp successfully (even while she's nursing sometimes!), and respond with great smiles. I have to share this, even if it embarrasses her later...

Today, she had a huge particle in her nostril, and I worked it out gently. Right after I got it out, she immediately gave me the BiGGEST, BRIGHTEST smile! It was hilarious!

Lance-isms

I was surface cleaning the 'fridge, and as I threw away a baby shower invitation, Lance ran over to the garbage and, looking at it, scolded, "Mom! That is Beee-U-teeful!" He couldn't believe that I would do such a thing. It was a really cute invitation, by the way... Maybe next time I'll give it to Lance for his collections.

Today, Lance came running to me to show me the word he wrote on a popsicle stick (these sticks are Lance's favorite pastime). It was actually the first word I have ever seen him write on his own besides his name. I could have thought of many other two letter words that would have been great, but his first word he wrote is: "NO". I praised him anyway... Now we're learning how to write, "YES". Let's focus on the positive!

Last night at the dinner table, Lance was saying a beautiful prayer. Then he said, "... and please bless the chocolate that it will not have sugar in it... " Jared and I did our best to stifle our laughs.

Sweet

I just want to get these down before they're lost from my memory:

Jace and Lance really can be quite sensitive.

When Jace came to visit us in the hospital just after I had Cami, he came up to me and touched my arm as he asked intently, "Mom, did it hurt?"

Back at preschool, just after getting his new baby sister, Lance's preschool teacher asked him how his baby sister is doing. He said, "She's beautiful."

Any Likeness?

My mom sent me this photo today. I'm 3 months old (it took me longer to fit in this dress, I was 5 lbs when I was born) And that's my cute brother! How do ya like it, Jimmy!?

As much as I would like to, I don't think we look that much alike. People say she looks like Jace and Kyle. But, while we're getting photos with cute brothers here are a couple more!

I got this one tonight. Jace helped me out a ton while I got the others to bed. Speaking of which, I think I'll head that way...

4 Weeks

Sweet and precious. This is the dress that my Gramma Tilton made for me. I wonder if there's any photos of me in it... Mom? It's so cute, thanks Gramma!

I caught her smiling! Today, I believe Cami began responding to my smiles. Just when I didn't think it could get any more fun! At four weeks, Cami is sleeping most the night, only to wake up once.

(By the way, Jared's still in his last 2 weeks of his Pediatrics rotation. As an extra precaution, he tries to stay away from Cami when he's home because he's been helping the sick kids at Primary Children's Hospital - children with RSV, phenomia, etc. Every 4 days, he's on call, meaning that he stays at the hospital for over 24 hours, sometimes only getting one hour of sleep. Luckily, they feed him there, and the food's great! Two more weeks...)

If I'm too tired in the morning when she wakes, she'll settle for a binkie and go back to sleep. She really is a sweet pleasure. I love watching her sleep. She's so beautiful!

Kyle waits patiently... "Oh! Let me help you with that binkie!"

Becky Ann Photography

I have an awesome, wonderful, talented friend named Becky. She was one of the first people I met when I moved here, and she welcomed me right in. She also happens to be a professional photographer. Last week, she had Cami and I over for some pictures that she took for us as a gift. I love them, and I recommend Becky to anyone that is looking to get professional pictures done. Thanks, Becky!

Circle of Love

Do they like her?

3 Weeks

Got Milk? Thanks for letting me say that :) I've been dying to get this photo!
At three weeks, Cami is still cute and sweet as ever. Her brothers still smother her with love. She's continuing to eat well and gain weight (thus the picture above - how can I not be a proud mom?) Last week at the Dr. office, she weighed 8 lbs. 5 oz!

More fun in purple - this beautiful blanket was made for Cami by her Great-Granny in TX, my Dad's mom. Since I was little, she has made each individual in my family an afghan. She won first place in the fair for one that she made for me years ago. So you can see she has a lot of talent!

Worth It

Last Friday, I told Jace that I was sorry that I wouldn't be able to be at his Den mtg for Cub Scouts the following day and that he would go with his friend. (Jared was gone to the hospital helping newborn babies- can you believe he has changed more newborn diapers at the hospital than he has here at home? He's changed 3 diapers at the hospital as of yesterday. Not a complaint! Just an interesting point :)

So, as I was telling Jace the plans for his Den meeting, he was so sweet and understanding about it. (I was holding Cami and he looked at her and asked, "Is it hard having kids?"

"Sometimes." I told him. "But it's worth it."

Last night, the boys having their usual evening wrestling match, Cami in the background, tolerating it.

Two Weeks

Today at 1:27pm, I looked at the clock and remembered the excitement that began at about this same time, just 2 weeks before. Since then, I can't help but keep repeating the thought, "I am so grateful to live right by a hospital!"
It doesn't seem fair that it's already been two precious weeks! She smiles when she's drinking. She's sleeping better and better. Last night, she slept for a straight 5 hours! Her brothers cannot get enough her. Her dad sees her sometimes, too :) (He's doing his Pediatrics rotation right now.) Her mom cannot get enough pictures of her.
In celebration of today, while 2 boys were asleep (and Obama was being inaugurated), Cami and I had some fun with the two "P"'s: Pictures and Pink.
Isn't she a doll?

Weekend Getaway

Call us paranoid, overprotective parents, but we've been taking extra precautions to keep Cami inside during RSV season and not expose her any more than we have to. It is also Jared's last free weekend for a while. So, in order to avoid cabin fever, we packed up and headed for the cabin! (If that makes any sense).

Jace cleared out the snow. Dad helped a little.

Jace and Lance got to go ice fishing with Dad at Strawberry Reservoir. Check out this video of Lance sledding... without a sled!

Is that any good, Kyle?

Two happy dudes... another dude, and a dudette. Kyle's still got his snow cookie... must be good. Lance got a little sunburn from the icefishing today.

She sleeps ... Mom had fun again flashing photos of the princess.

One Week Old!

I caught her smiling today. Maybe she knows it's her One Week birthday. Or maybe it's just gas...

Isn't her name pretty? Her middle name is from my Gramma Tilton. I'm kind of biased, but I LOVE it!

For Real or just Gas?

Today Jace greeted Cami enthusiastically with,
"Hello, my favorite little sister!"

She answered with the brightest smile I've seen. I told Jace, "I think she knows what she's doing!"

Jace said, "Mom, it's just gas."
