May Memories

Jared has completed his last classroom exam of 2nd year today. Hurray! Now if we could just get those darned Boards out of the way...

So his computer is available to me today, with its pictures and all. (We have a huge stack of negatives, from back in the pre-digital days, that are in the process of being scanned into Jared's computer.) I was going through and looking at our 2004 pictures, and realized that these two are from May, 4 years ago! Evan is 2 and Jace is 3, soon to be 4.

I remember taking this picture. I found Jace and Evan sitting in the grass, like this, in our backyard and ran to grab my camera. Thankfully, they stayed there! I love looking at this picture and laughing at Evan's inside-out hat. He did things like that all the time. My Gramma Tilton tells the story about a time when we were at their house in California, and Evan had 2 different shoes on.

Jared asked me, "Why does he have two different shoes on?".

"That's how he wanted it." He specifically wanted that shoe and that one. Why not give the kid what he wants?

This is another random picture of Evan that I love. Again, in the backyard. His hair got really blonde in the summer. He and Jace were always outside getting tan and blonde. I couldn't think of a better nickname for him than "Happy". Since he was a baby, it seemed like he always smiled when his eyes met anyone else's.
