Wave that flag high!
It's the Bountiful Pioneer Day's Parade! It's become tradition for Jared and his Dad to enjoy the festivities from their platform as announcers in the parade. Another tradition we have enjoyed is meeting with our good friends Zadok and Kim. Jared grew up in the same neighborhood with and enjoy high school years with them. Jared and Zadok still laugh about how they used to try and think of the cheapest double date ideas in high school, and they turned out quite fun and successful! (Except I wasn't involved yet - dang I missed out!)
The kids had a blast with their cousins dancing to the music, clapping their hands, cheering, and running out to get the candy that is thrown at them. The boys loved the idea that they got to stay up so late tonight and watch fireworks. They were partied out by the time we carried their sleeping bodies home (minus Jace, he carried himself).
I am so grateful to the pioneers and the huge, painful, faithful sacrifices they endured. I hope that I can "Carry On" through my trials today as they did so well in their days.
